When Hans Andersen Schytte was born about 1605, in Vester Tostrup, Vester Tostrup, Rinds, Viborg, Denmark, his father, Anders Nielsen Schytte, was 42 and his mother, Maren Jensdatter Ruus, was 26. He married Gyda Olufsdatter before 1629. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 7 daughters. He died on 2 March 1681, in Fanefjord, Møn, Denmark, at the age of 77, and was buried in Fanefjord, Mønbo, Præstø, Denmark.
