He married Harriet Emeline Ruggles on 15 July 1838, in Wrentham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He lived in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States in 1860. He died on 26 March 1904, in Milford, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in Milford, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, United States.
