When Sione Taumoepeau was born about 1875, in Kolofo'ou, Tongatapu, Tonga, his father, Saimone Taumoepeau, was -3 and his mother, 'Ilaisaane Kaufo'ou Mahe, was 15. He married Siu Kapukava in 1898. He died in 1911, in Ha'apai, Tonga, at the age of 37, and was buried in Ha'apai, Tonga.
