When Hildur Arnadottir was born in 1772, in Staðarholt, Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla, Northeastern Region, Iceland, her father, Árni Eiríksson, was 30 and her mother, Valgerður Magnúsdóttir, was 28. She married Jon Havardsson on 4 August 1796. She died about 1835, at the age of 64, and was buried in Ásar, Austur-Húnavatnssýsla, Northwestern Region, Iceland.
