Brief Life History of Nele Tavete

When Nele Tavete Leiataua was born on 17 June 1887, in Manono, Samoa, her father, Tavete Piki Leiataua, was 38 and her mother, Leuta Magalei, was 20. She married Tinei Su'a on 15 April 1907, in Sauniatu, Samoa. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 31 May 1943, in Tutuila, Eastern, American Samoa, at the age of 55, and was buried in Mapusaga, Tualauta, Western, American Samoa.

Germany annexes Western Samoa, the U.S. takes over eastern Samoa and Britain withdraws its claim to the islands in accordance with treaty between Germany, Britain and the U.S.
