He married Ingrid Finnsdatter Linder on 28 October 1746, in Sand, Nord-Odal, Hedmark, Norway. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He died in 1752, in Galterud, Sør-Odal, Hedmark, Norway, at the age of 41.
