He lived in Beaver Township, Mahoning, Ohio, United States in 1850 and Springfield Township, Allen, Indiana, United States for about 10 years. He died on 19 December 1877, in Allen, Indiana, United States, at the age of 64, and was buried in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana, United States.
