He married Mary Ann Simon on 6 June 1835, in Saint Saviour, Jersey. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Saint Helier, Jersey for about 10 years. He died on 8 November 1880, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 70.
