When Bradley Blackstone Maddocks was born on 27 June 1829, in Hermon, Penobscot, Maine, United States, his father, Nathaniel Maddocks, was 39 and his mother, Elizabeth Roberts, was 30. He married Mary Anne Matthews on 17 May 1859, in Prince Edward Island, British North America. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Lot 4, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1861 and Charlestown, Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States in 1900. He died on 23 April 1909, in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 79, and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
