Sione Feingatau was born on 23 April 1916, in Nukunuku, Tongatapu, Tonga as the son of Sione Mafi and Vika Valu. He married Haleiata falemei Fakatene on 3 January 1936, in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 16 November 1999, in his hometown, at the age of 83, and was buried in Nukunuku, Tongatapu, Tonga.
