Catherine Youngman or Yonkman was born about 1805, in Pennsylvania, United States as the daughter of Thomas Youngman. She married John Crates in 1821, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. She lived in Bath, Allen, Ohio, United States in 1850. She died on 22 June 1876, in Ridge Township, Van Wert, Ohio, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Ridge Cemetery, Ridge Township, Van Wert, Ohio, United States.
