When Micajah Doty was born on 12 January 1785, in Wantage Township, Sussex, New Jersey, United States, his father, John Doty, was 25 and his mother, Hannah Martin, was 19. He married Martha A Ramsey on 7 April 1808, in Ohio, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Marshall, Virginia, United States in 1850. He registered for military service in 1812. He died on 26 May 1855, in Woodlands, Marshall, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Marshall, West Virginia, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

History: Edward Doty (c. 1600–55) was one of the passengers on the Mayflower, a servant of Stephen Hopkins. He became comparatively wealthy and moved to Duxbury MA, where he left nine children.
