He married Margaret Ann Fox in 1854, in Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Perth, Lanark, Ontario, Canada in 1871 and Perth, Ontario, Canada for about 10 years. He died on 25 August 1921, in Stratford, Perth, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 90, and was buried in Stratford, Perth, Ontario, Canada.

The Night of the BIG WIND. In Killarney and its neighborhood there was a terrible hurricane. The town sustained much damage and many houses were shattered.
