When Willem de Die was born in 1865, in Schoondijke, Zeeland, Netherlands, his father, Adriaan de Die, was 26 and his mother, Sara Merk, was 26. He married Cornelia Maria van den Broeke on 23 May 1891, in Waterlandkerkje, Zeeland, Netherlands. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 11 December 1954, in his hometown, at the age of 89.
