She lived in Township of Barrington, Cook, Illinois, United States for about 10 years. She died on 21 February 1876, in Cook, Illinois, United States, at the age of 78.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

History: John Whitman settled in Weymouth, MA, c. 1638. The poet Walt Whitman (1819–92) was descended from Joseph Whitman, who had settled in Stratford, CT, from England around 1660.
