When Allan Springsteen was born in 1801, in Gainsborough Township, Lincoln, Canada West, British North America, his father, Casparus Springsteen, was 56 and his mother, Elizabeth Comfort, was 22. He married Hannah Maria Lamoreaux about 1820, in Queens, New Brunswick, Canada. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in East Oxford Township, Oxford, Ontario, Canada in 1851 and Dereham Township, Oxford, Ontario, Canada in 1851. He died in 1851, at the age of 50.

1803

France sells Louisiana territories to U.S.A.

1803 · The U.S doubles in size

The United States purchased all the Louisiana territory (828,000 sq. mi) from France, only paying 15 million dollars (A quarter trillion today) for the land. In the purchase, the US obtained the land that makes up 15 US states and 2 Canadian Provinces. The United States originally wanted to purchase of New Orleans and the lands located on the coast around it, but quickly accepted the bargain that Napoleon Bonaparte offered.

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.

Dutch: topographic name from springsteen, a kind of stone used as a stepping stone in unpaved streets. This surname is no longer found in the Netherlands.
