Franklin Nelson Moone was born in June 1850, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He married Catharine Margaret Stahlman on 2 January 1894, in Busti, Chautauqua, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He immigrated to United States in 1849 and lived in Ringgold Township, Jefferson, Pennsylvania, United States in 1900 and Gaskill Township, Jefferson, Pennsylvania, United States in 1910. He died on 7 October 1939, in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States, at the age of 89, and was buried in United States.

1854 · Creation of the Republican Party

A debate continues over the location of the creation of the Republican Party. Some sources claim the party was formed in Ripon, Wisconsin, on February 28, 1854. Others claim the first meeting of the Republican Party took place in Jackson, Michigan, on July 6, 1854, where the Republican Party was officially organized. Over 1,000 people were present and candidates were selected for the party, thus making it the first Republican convention.

1875 · A Treaty with Hawaii

In the Mid 1870s, The United States sought out the Kingdom of Hawaii to make a free trade agreement. The Treaty gave the Hawaiians access to the United States agricultural markets and it gave the United States a part of land which later became Pearl Harbor.
