He married Elizabeth Benson on 5 September 1768, in Dover Plains, Dover, Dutchess, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Ontario, Ontario, New York, United States in 1800. He died on 4 September 1825, in Athens, Ohio, United States, at the age of 79, and was buried in Mud Sock Cemetery, Amesville, Ames Township, Athens, Ohio, United States.
