He married Tacy Nichols on 14 August 1823, in Loudoun, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Lawrence, Missouri, United States in 1850 and Ozark Township, Lawrence, Missouri, United States in 1860. He died on 27 July 1875, in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence, Missouri, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Morrison Cemetery, Norman Township, Dent, Missouri, United States.
