When Jacob Friedrich Steinle was born on 16 June 1820, in Baumerlenbach, Öhringen, Württemberg, Germany, his father, Johann Michael Steinle, was 42 and his mother, Christina Barbara Gebbert, was 35. He married Eva Margaretha Lutz on 5 September 1843. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 10 August 1900, in his hometown, at the age of 80.
