When Jaques Balmas was born on 6 October 1765, in San Germano, San Germano, Turin, Piedmont, Italy, his father, Michel Balmas, was 41 and his mother, Marie Bertalot, was 26. He married Marie Catherine Soulier on 9 January 1786, in San Germano Chisone, Turin, Piedmont, Italy. They were the parents of at least 7 daughters. He died on 6 October 1838, in his hometown, at the age of 73.
