He married Martha Jane Dillard in September 1834, in Hardeman, Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Pontotoc, Pontotoc, Mississippi, United States in 1850 and Pontotoc, Mississippi, United States in 1860. He registered for military service in 1862. He died on 6 January 1875, in Esperanza, Pontotoc, Mississippi, United States, at the age of 62, and was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Etta, Union, Mississippi, United States.
