When George Danby was born on 3 November 1827, in Yonge Township, Leeds, Upper Canada, British North America, his father, Samuel Danby, was 37 and his mother, Permelia Palmer, was 21. He married Ruey Slack on 19 January 1853, in Charleston, Yonge Township, Leeds, Canada West, British North America. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Sycamore, Sycamore Township, Wyandot, Ohio, United States in 1870 and Liberty Township, Henry, Ohio, United States in 1880. He died on 24 February 1896, in Delta, York Township, Fulton, Ohio, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Wright Cemetery, Liberty Center, Henry, Ohio, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
