Johannis Gardenier was born in 1724, in Philipsburg Manor, Westchester, New York Colony, British Colonial America as the son of Gardenier and Sara Jochem van Weert Wart. He married Sara Van Tassel on 23 April 1747, in North Tarrytown, Westchester, New York Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He died in 1755, in his hometown, at the age of 31.
