When Peter Iseli was born in 1740, in Hasle bei Burgdorf, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Peter Iseli, was 23 and his mother, Barbara Christen, was 20. He married Elsbeth Schaller on 5 July 1765. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 9 April 1784, in his hometown, at the age of 44.
