When Christen Iseli was born on 29 January 1745, in Hasle bei Burgdorf, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Johanes Iseli, was 23 and his mother, Elsbeth Burkhalter, was 39. He married Katri Straem on 7 December 1770, in Hasle bei Burgdorf, Bern, Switzerland. He died on 8 November 1772, in his hometown, at the age of 27.
