When Jacob Schone was born on 12 August 1807, in Wiesede, Wittmund, Hanover, Prussia, Germany, his father, Jacob Christian Schoon, was 36 and his mother, Hilke Frerichs, was 43. He died on 24 June 1828, in his hometown, at the age of 20, and was buried in Pilsum, Krummhörn, Aurich, Hanover.
