He married Abigail Burt on 30 January 1788, in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 27 November 1828, at the age of 64, and was buried in Center Cemetery, Richmond, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States.
