Britton Pyland was born about 1818, in Chatham, North Carolina, United States as the son of Pyland. He married Nancy Smith in 1850, in Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Perry, Tennessee, United States for about 20 years. He died in 1880, in Robertson, Texas, United States, at the age of 63.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years. 

1830 · Trail of Tears

In the 1830's, President Jackson called for all the Native Americans to be forced off their own land. As the Cherokee were forced out of North Carolina many of them hid in the mountains of North Carolina.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.
