When Antti Järvenpää was born on 5 January 1829, in Lappajärvi, Vaasa, Finland, his father, Lauri Juho Järvenpää, was 29 and his mother, Greta Andersdotter, was 27. He married Kaisa Norrkiilusen on 13 November 1852, in Lappajärvi, Vaasa, Finland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 15 September 1908, at the age of 79.
