When George Wells was born on 28 July 1802, in Grayson, Virginia, United States, his father, Barna Wells Jr., was 23 and his mother, Sarah Anne Bayles, was 28. He married Mary "Polly" Daniels on 24 September 1829, in Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Wise, Virginia, United States in 1860. He died in 1870, in Russell, Virginia, United States, at the age of 68.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.
