When Caspar Züricher was born on 19 November 1719, in Trub, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Elias Zürcher, was 29 and his mother, Barbara Leüe, was 28. He married Christina Aeschlimann on 10 September 1764. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He died on 27 May 1767, at the age of 47.

Name Meaning
form of Jasper , also found as a variant in English. According to legend, this was the name of one of the three Magi or ‘wise men’ who brought gifts to the infant Christ. The Magi are not named in the Bible, but early Christian tradition assigned them the names Caspar, Balthasar, and Melchior. Among the best known bearers in modern times is the U.S. statesman Caspar Weinberger ( 1917–2006 ).
