She died on 15 March 1898, in Ross Township, Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States.

1829 · Van Buren County, Michigan Genealogy

The county is named after President Martin Van Buren (1782-1862) who was serving as United States Secretary of War at the time of the county's formation.[4] Parent County 1829--Van Buren County was created 29 October 1829 from unorganized territory. It was attached to Cass and Lenaww Counties prior to organization 3 April 1837. County seat: Paw Paw [5]

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1847 · Moving the State Capital

The capital of Michigan was moved from Detroit to Lansing on March 17, 1847. The capital was moved to be further away from Canada, to encourage settlement and boost economy toward the inner regions of the state, and to make to capital more accessible to everyone statewide.
