When Valentine Wood Meriwether was born on 17 August 1761, in St James Northam Parish, Goochland, Virginia, British Colonial America, his father, Cap. William Meriwether, was 30 and his mother, Martha Cox Wood, was 28. He married Priscilla Pollard on 14 December 1790, in Louisa, Louisa, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He registered for military service in 1831. He died on 15 August 1832, in Henry, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Henry, Kentucky, United States.
