When Esteban Galarza was christened on 13 February 1718, in Etxarri Aranatz, Nafarroa, Spain, his father, Pedro de Galarza, was 30 and his mother, Cathalina de Bacaycua Araña, was 26. He married Josepha Mayza on 8 May 1743, in Etxarri Aranatz, Nafarroa, Spain. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 29 September 1778, in his hometown, at the age of 60.
