When Asahel Bigelow Sr was born on 11 May 1755, in Westborough, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States, his father, Cornelius Bigalow, was 22 and his mother, Sarah Miller, was 17. He married Martha Hall on 30 May 1780, in Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 2 daughters. He registered for military service in 1781. He died in March 1806, in Broadalbin, Fulton, New York, United States, at the age of 50.
