When Caspar Wintsch was christened on 3 June 1568, in Illnau-Effretikon, Zürich, Switzerland, his father, Walter Wintsch, was 33 and his mother, Elsbeth Kuhn, was 29. He married Adelheid Müller on 4 November 1591, in Illnau-Effretikon, Zürich, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died in 1629, in his hometown, at the age of 61.
