When Jöns Åberg was born on 21 July 1768, in Görslöv, Skåne, Sweden, his father, Sven Åberg, was 34 and his mother, Brita Svenson, was 30. He married Malena Christophersdotter on 9 September 1801, in Lyngby, Malmöhus, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 23 April 1850, in Lyngby, Malmöhus, Sweden, at the age of 81.
