Hans Hug was born about 1690, in Schlieren, Zürich, Switzerland as the son of Ulrich Hug and Ursula Ruetschi. He married Adelheid Haupt on 4 April 1713, in Schlieren, Zürich, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 20 November 1742, at the age of 53, and was buried in Schlieren, Zürich, Switzerland.
