He lived in Washington, Washington, Iowa, United States in 1925 and Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, United States for about 10 years. He died on 30 September 1997, in Houston, Harris, Texas, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, United States.
