When Sarah Onderdonk was born before 4 April 1742, in New York Colony, British Colonial America, her father, Isaac Onderdonk, was 26 and her mother, Antie Reyersen, was 11739. She married Abraham Brinkerhoff about 1763, in Flushing, Queens, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. She died on 10 November 1824.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

Flemish and Dutch: variant, mostly Americanized, of Onderdonck, a topographic name composed of onder ‘below, under, lower’ + donk ‘small hill’.
