When Niels Sørensen Langballe was born in 1687, his father, Soren Andersen Langballe, was 27 and his mother, Kiersten Nielsdatter, was 26. He married Vita Nikkelsdatter Seidelin about 1719. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 4 July 1752, in Århus, Denmark, at the age of 65, and was buried in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.
