When Frantz Luethi was born on 16 March 1673, in Thundorf, Thurgau, Switzerland, his father, Adam Luethi, was 38 and his mother, Elsbeth Erni, was 37. He married Barbara Naef on 12 July 1705. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 6 June 1755, in his hometown, at the age of 82.
