He married Barbli Grunder on 30 May 1603, in Vechigen, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He died in July 1648, in his hometown, at the age of 68, and was buried in Vechigen, Bern, Switzerland.
