When Selma Josephina Karlsdotter was born on 16 November 1872, in Kristdala, Kalmar, Sweden, her father, Carl Peter Andreas Nilsson, was 42 and her mother, Greta Sophia Johansdotter, was 44. She married Karl Valfrid Gerhard Sandvall about 10 May 1916, in Höreda, Jönköping, Sweden. She died about 29 December 1953, at the age of 81.
