He died on 22 October 1875, in Cornish, Sullivan, New Hampshire, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Cornish Flat, Cornish, Sullivan, New Hampshire, United States.

1808 · Concord Becomes the Capital

In 1808, Concord became the capital of New Hampshire. It was originally the Penacook Plantation given to the state by the Massachusetts Bay Colony. 

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.
