When Charlotte Morse was born in 1817, in Williamsfield, Ashtabula, Ohio, United States, her father, Samuel Morse, was 35 and her mother, Charlotte Leffingwell, was 37. She died on 14 September 1846, at the age of 29, and was buried in South New Lyme Cemetery, New Lyme, Ashtabula, Ohio, United States.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years. 

1820 · Making States Equal

The Missouri Compromise helped provide the entrance of Maine as a free state and Missouri as a slave state into the United States. As part of the compromise, slavery was prohibited north of the 36°30′ parallel, excluding Missouri.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
