Hiram Clemmons Smart was born on 14 September 1798, in Tennessee, United States as the son of James Denton Smart. He married Sydney Brandon Carson on 13 March 1822, in Rutherford, North Carolina, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Rutherfordton Township, Rutherford, North Carolina, United States in 1850 and Golden Valley Township, Rutherford, North Carolina, United States in 1870. He died in 1873, in Rutherford, North Carolina, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Brittain Cemetery, Rutherfordton, Rutherford, North Carolina, United States.

"In 1799, in Little Meadow Creak located in Cabarrus County, North Carolina a large yellow """"rock"""" was found by Conrad Reed. A few years later it was determined that the """"rock"""" was a gold nugget."

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
