When Benjamin Franklin Leavitt was born on 6 September 1816, in Naples, Cumberland, Maine, United States, his father, Josiah Leavitt, was 35 and his mother, Betsey Gammon, was 34. He married Harriet Ann Heath on 4 June 1844, in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He died in August 1868, at the age of 51, and was buried in Waldwick Cemetery, Waldwick, Iowa, Wisconsin, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations.
