He married Elizabeth Parker on 10 July 1861, in Monroe, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Brown Township, Washington, Indiana, United States in 1870 and Franklin Township, Montgomery, Indiana, United States in 1880. He died on 7 February 1907, at the age of 82, and was buried in Sumner, Kansas, United States.
